Laravel API Integration Developer

A senior Laravel API integration developer for REST APIs, payment gateways, messaging, webhooks and SaaS connections, working with you directly.

When a Laravel app has to talk to the outside world — a payment gateway, a messaging service, another SaaS product, or a separate frontend — the hard part is rarely the HTTP call itself. The hard part is making that connection reliable: auth that doesn't break, webhooks that don't lose events, errors that get handled, and money or messages that don't disappear when something times out. That's the work I do.

I'm Umer Farooq, a senior full-stack developer with 9+ years of experience. Laravel is the framework I use most for APIs and integrations, alongside Node.js, React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, MySQL and Postgres. I'm based in Islamabad, Pakistan, and I work with clients remotely as a Laravel API integration developer.

Who this is for

  • Founders and product teams who need a REST API so a React, Next.js or mobile app can talk to a Laravel backend.
  • Businesses adding payments — one-off charges, subscriptions or multi-gateway checkout — without turning the rest of the app into a mess.
  • Teams connecting SaaS tools they already pay for (billing, messaging, CRM, notifications) into a Laravel system that has to keep running.
  • Companies with an existing Laravel or PHP app that already has half-finished integrations, flaky webhooks or hardcoded credentials that need fixing properly.
  • Teams modernising an older system who need the new API layer to sit cleanly alongside the old one. See legacy application modernization and CodeIgniter to Laravel migration.

What I build

REST APIs for frontends and mobile apps

Laravel backends that expose a clear REST API, usually authenticated with Laravel Sanctum (token or SPA cookie). Endpoints shaped around real workflows, not a raw dump of the database. Role-based access, rate limits where they matter, and responses that a React, Next.js or mobile client can rely on.

On Farabi Clinics ERP, for example, the Laravel 11 API (rebuilt from V1 to V2) sits behind a Next.js admin dashboard that clinic staff use every day.

Payment gateway integrations

Stripe, Razorpay, Elavon and similar gateways: checkout, refunds, recurring subscriptions, webhook handling and reconciliation. The important part is not the first successful charge — it's what happens when a webhook arrives late, a payment fails halfway, or a customer upgrades mid-cycle.

I've wired Stripe into donation and subscription flows (Hibabox, Oolus.org), Stripe and Razorpay into a sales-to-cash ERP pipeline (Webrino), and Elavon into ticketing checkout on a live production system.

Messaging and notifications

Twilio for SMS and related messaging, plus push notification pipelines where the product needs them. Delivery status, retries and logging matter as much as sending the first message.

Connecting Laravel apps to external SaaS

OAuth or API-key auth against third-party products, syncing records in both directions where needed, and keeping the Laravel side as the source of truth for your business rules. Enterprise telecom systems work often means the same pattern at a larger scale: durable API clients, careful auth, and clear failure modes.

Webhooks, auth, errors and tests

Inbound webhooks with signature verification, idempotent handlers so a retry doesn't double-charge or double-send, structured error handling and logging, and feature tests around the paths that move money or important records. Credentials and secrets stay in environment config, not in the codebase.

How an integration project usually goes

  1. Map the real flow. What should happen when a payment succeeds, a message fails, or a SaaS webhook arrives twice? We agree on the business rules before writing clients.
  2. Read what you already have. Existing Laravel code, half-finished SDK usage, hardcoded keys and old webhook endpoints get reviewed first so we don't build on top of a broken base.
  3. A short written plan. Endpoints or events involved, auth approach, failure cases, and what I need from you (API keys, sandbox access, sample payloads).
  4. Build and test in pieces. Sandbox first, then staging, with tests on the money and messaging paths. You can see each piece working before it goes live.
  5. Ship carefully. Feature flags or soft launches where they help, webhook endpoints monitored, and a rollback path for each release.
  6. Handover. Notes on how auth, webhooks and retries work, so another developer can take over later if needed.

Integration work I've done

These are real systems, described the same way as on their case study pages:

  • Farabi Clinics ERP (2024 to present). A Laravel 11 API with Sanctum, rebuilt from V1 to V2 for multi-tenant, bilingual, multi-currency clinic operations, with a Next.js admin dashboard on top. I contributed substantially to both the API and the dashboard.
  • Hibabox (2023 to 2025). A donation and mosque/madrassah administration platform on Laravel, MySQL, Stripe and Redis, including recurring subscription plans, campaigns and pledges. I worked alongside a larger team for roughly a year and a half.
  • Webrino. A cloud ERP/CRM for wholesale and manufacturing: enquiries through to invoices, with Stripe and Razorpay payment integrations on a CakePHP/Drupal backend and a React resource planner. I worked on it as a full-stack ERP developer.
  • School ERP (2025 to present). A multi-branch school system on Laravel with nwidart modules, covering admissions, attendance, fees and push notifications. I'm the sole developer of the current codebase.
  • Oolus.org (2025 to present). A charity platform on Laravel with a public donation flow, volunteer signup and an admin dashboard.

From 2018 to Oct 2026 I also worked on NitroTickets, where I led its rebuild from CodeIgniter into Laravel and integrated Elavon payments and Twilio messaging on the live production system.

You work with me directly

No agency middle layer. The person on the first call is the person who reads your API clients, designs the webhook handlers, writes the tests and answers when something fails in production. If an integration is outside what I do well, I'll say so.

Book a quick call

Tell me which systems need to talk to each other, or which payment or messaging path is already causing trouble. In 30 minutes we can decide whether I'm the right fit and what a sensible first step looks like.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of API integrations do you build?

REST APIs for React, Next.js and mobile clients (usually with Laravel Sanctum), payment gateways such as Stripe, Razorpay and Elavon, messaging with Twilio, webhooks, and connecting Laravel apps to external SaaS products.

Can you add Stripe or another payment gateway to an existing Laravel app?

Yes. I review how your app handles orders or donations today, then wire checkout, refunds, subscriptions and webhook handling so retries and failures don't double-charge or lose payments.

Do you build APIs for a separate frontend or mobile app?

Yes. I design and implement Laravel REST APIs with clear auth, roles and responses that a separate React, Next.js or mobile client can rely on. On Farabi Clinics ERP I worked on both the Laravel API and the Next.js dashboard that consumes it.

How do you handle webhooks and failed payments or messages?

Inbound webhooks get signature checks and idempotent handlers so a retry is safe. Failures are logged, retried where it makes sense, and surfaced so you can see what went wrong instead of guessing.

Can you fix a half-finished or flaky integration someone else started?

Yes. I read the existing clients, credentials setup and webhook endpoints first, then tell you what's solid, what's risky and what I'd change before adding more surface area.

Do you only work with Laravel for integrations?

Laravel is my main backend for this work, but I've also integrated payments on CakePHP/Drupal backends and I work across Node.js, React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, MySQL and Postgres when the project needs it.

Will the integration lock us into you?

No. Code lives in your repository, secrets stay in your environment config, and I leave notes on auth, webhooks and retries so another developer can maintain it.

How do we get started?

Book a 30-minute call or send a message through the contact page. Tell me which systems need to connect or what's already failing, and we'll work out whether I'm the right fit and what the first step should be.
